Orlando: Sloppily Dressed and Spirited
When Travel and Leisure
magazine ranked Orlando as the fourth worst-dressed city in America,
the locals responded by simply flashing their perfect smiles like
they could care less. In Southern Florida, you can hang out with the
posh residents of Boca Raton, ogle at people with perfect swimsuit
bodies in Fort Lauderdale, or party with the in-crowd at Miami.
That's not all that
Orlando folks have going for them, though. Aside from having good
dentists, there are many activities worth smiling about in this
family-oriented city, and these things beat any type of fun that
other experiences in Southern Florida can provide. Amusement and
water parks are just two examples.
That shared, many people
(including some natives) bash Orlando theme parks for providing
cheesy and superficial fun but what they cannot deny is the weight of
the fleeting but memorable bliss many children have taken with them
from theme parks like Walt Disney World and Universal Studios.
These attractions,
together with educational facilities such as the Discovery Cove and
SeaWorld, along with water parks like Wet 'N Wild, also give parents
the satisfaction of bonding with their family over wholesome
activities. The Serpentarium, zoos, and airboat rides in a section of
the Everglades, among other places, can all provide the educational
aspect of a holistic family vacation.
